FRONT STEPS PROJECT RYE
(coming together during Covid-19 to support our local businesses)
Wow! Back in March when I made the decision to offer "Front Steps Project Rye" to my town of Rye, New York I was nervous about how people would react. The aim was to capture an important moment in history and document our families during the Covid-19 pandemic. The images helped bring us together virtually when we might have been feeling isolated, and we were able to share smiles with neighbors and friends in the slideshows after each round. I could never have imagined how much our families would embrace, support and find comfort and joy in this special project. Over 350 families welcomed me from 30’ away during 7 rounds, and the outpouring of love, positive messages and smiling faces over the 9 weeks was overwhelming. It certainly kept me busy and was a lot of work, however I smiled and cried happy tears through the whole experience! A big "Thank You" for giving me the opportunity to give back while continuing to do what I love. Through the project I got to meet so many new families and see a different side of our community. Thank you for the way you continue to pay it forward by generously supporting our local businesses during this challenging time, for your positive feedback, for sharing your many stories with me, for all the wonderful emails and texts after you received your photos, and to the families who continue to support my business by booking sessions with me.
Thank you for all the welcome smiles, to the parents who took time out of their working day to participate, and all the family pets who co-operated and posed for me - they now call me the 'dog whisperer'!
